Funded companies that need a marketing team before they can build one.
Every channel. One team.
We partner with companies that want focus, speed, and accountability in their marketing. We bring strategy and execution together to deliver outcomes that matter without the noise or wasted motion.
Digital Star Marketing is a marketing agency in Wilmington, NC, founded by Alex and Katherine Moura. We work with founders and venture funds, software and technology companies, and events and entertainment brands. Our mission is to find new customers and make new fans for the people we work with, and to build them a marketing system that keeps working after we hand it over.

When we looked at how growing companies got their marketing done, we saw founders stuck with bad choices. We saw agencies that sold a strategy deck and handed the work to junior staff. We saw freelancers who did good work and needed someone to manage them. We saw first marketing hires who wrote blog posts and guessed, because nobody had set the plan. Founders needed a different kind of marketing team, one that sets the strategy and does the work itself. That’s why we started Digital Star.
We set the strategy, build the brand and the website, set up the CRM, and run the ads and content that bring in customers. One team does all of it, inside your accounts. You get a marketing playbook that’s easy to understand, execute, measure and refine, on a tech stack that grows with you. We use AI throughout our work, which is how we move this fast. Services
Funded companies that need a marketing team before they can build one.
Firms that want their portfolio companies to look sharper, move faster and tell a better story.
Teams that need a brand, a pipeline and the systems to measure both.
Artists, festivals, promoters and venues that need to sell tickets and grow a fan base.
The job is the same for all of them: find new customers and make new fans.
When you bring us in, marketing becomes our job.
We set the strategy and targets, and we move money toward what produces pipeline.
We run a marketing call with you every two weeks and work in your Slack like anyone on your team.
We help prepare the marketing slides for every board meeting: what we spent, what it produced and what comes next.
We brief and manage your PR firm, video team, designers and freelancers, so every vendor reports to one owner.
We meet with your key stakeholders whenever marketing needs to be part of the conversation.
We plan and run the announcement, press, email, social and ads for a product, a company or a tour.
We shape your story and find the press, speaking slots, awards and conferences worth your time.
We build and run your brand, website, CRM, ads, content and events.
When you hire, we hand your new leader the playbooks, dashboards and accounts.

The people who write the plan are the people who run it.
We take ownership of your marketing and the people doing it: designers, video editors, PR firms and freelancers. We keep it all moving and report to you the way your own head of marketing would. When it’s faster to do something than to explain it, we do it. Check-ins every two weeks are built in, and routine updates never need a formal presentation.
Every company comes to us at a different point.
Some clients arrive before they have a brand. Others have a brand, a website and a CRM that don’t work together. We start with what you have, fix what’s broken, and build what’s missing.
The best marketing comes from the people who know the most.
Your leaders already have what your audience wants to hear. We help them go live, turn each conversation into a podcast, and cut the best moments into clips, posts and emails for every channel. Over time, people start coming to you. It’s networking at scale.
Your marketing should outlast our engagement.
Everything we build lives in your accounts and belongs to you. We document every channel as we go, so when you hire your own team, they start with a system that already runs.
Founders, funds, software companies and artists count on Digital Star when growth can’t wait. Founders are launching brands that look ready for their next round. Software companies are turning their websites into pipeline. Venture firms are telling their own story as well as their founders do. Musicians and festivals are selling out rooms and selling straight to their fans. We’re working toward a day when any company with a good product can grow before it builds a department, and hire once it knows exactly who it needs.

With your audience. Before any campaign, we define who you’re talking to and what you want them to believe, then build the brand, website and tracking around that.
We do the core work ourselves: strategy, brand, writing, ads, CRM and reporting. For photography, video and other specialist work, we bring in the right people and manage them. Rainbow’s CEO called us “our entire marketing team from start-up to scale-up.”
A full marketing program, where we run the strategy, the work and the team, is $12,250 a month. If you need marketing leadership only, it’s $8,750 a month. Ad spend and outside specialists are billed separately, and you approve them before anything is spent. Every price is on our Pricing page.
Yes. We brief them, review their work and keep them on schedule, so every vendor reports to one owner and you get one status update instead of five. If we can do a job better ourselves, we’ll tell you.
No. We start where your audience already spends time, prove the channel works, then add more.
No. We set up tracking early so the data is there, and we start ads when they make sense.
A little. We plan, write and produce it, and your leaders add the expertise only they have. Content from real experts stands out from AI-written copy, with readers and with search engines.
We work in your Slack, keep a shared folder with every note and next step, and meet every two weeks, with a monthly strategy session with your CEO.
We set the KPIs with you early, then report against them every week, with dashboards you can open anytime.
We hand them the playbooks, dashboards and accounts, and your data stays yours the whole time. When Functional Finance hired its first full-time marketer, that person took over a system that was already running.
